As a ‘Publicly Supported Charity’ (not a private foundation) we are legally required to raise funds from the community. We need donations to maintain our standing. We need the support of the public.
Fundraising helps us to be powerful during times of need. It can help us meet community needs in a timely way. For example, the money raised during Covid was matched by the foundation to help more people during this time period. This was also the case with the Scholarship fund, the Historical Records fund and the funds that went to pay for heating oil a few years ago. All of the donations collected in those years were used for specific causes.
The Tamworth Foundation is devoted exclusively to improving life for all the citizens of Tamworth. The grants distributed each year touch virtually every aspect of life here, including specific projects in our schools, our libraries, the arts, our churches, our Town, health services and recreational activities for our youth. Your gift, large or small, helps to insure that The Tamworth Foundation will remain a valuable source of Tamworth's well-being far into the future. If you have any questions, please email us. Donate Online The quickest way to support The Tamworth Foundation is by pressing the Donate Online button. It takes you to a secure page where you can make a donation to the Tamworth Foundation by credit card or other methods of payment. You can make a one-time donation or a recurring one. You will receive a confirmation.
The service we are using to take donations is called Zeffy. They give us 100% of your donation without subtracting any fees. They do this is by asking donors for an additional contribution, or tip, to cover the fees. There is no obligation to contribute more than your donation, but any extra helps Zeffy to be sustainable.
Cash Donation The traditional way to make donations is by check, in response to our annual appeal letter mailed every summer. But we’ll gladly accept your donation at any time. Gifts of cash enable you to claim a current tax deduction of up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income in any one year when you itemize deductions. The excess, if any, can be carried forward for up to five additional years. Give A Special Gift in Someone's Name Since 2009 we have offered to send a beautiful note card with a watercolor of Tamworth Village done by former board member Bill Rich to signify a gift made by you to The Tamworth Foundation in someone’s name. For holidays, special occasions, or any time, this is a caring and creative way to honor your loved ones. All of the monies raised through these gifts will add to our annual giving.
